Hit and run chase ends in Dade County

PRESS RELEASE – Monday, Nov. 20, Dade County Deputies were notified that Fort Payne PD and DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office were in pursuit of a “hit and run” suspect out of Fort Payne.

Dade County Deputies joined the pursuit, while Trenton City Police Department set up North of the Trenton exit on Interstate 59.
A Trenton City Detective successfully deployed spike strips and disabled the vehicle on Interstate 59, bringing the vehicle to a stop.
The male driver was taken in to custody and is facing numerous charges in Georgia, in relation to the felony pursuit, as well as numerous charges in Alabama.
A female passenger was taken in to custody and is facing an obstruction charge.

“This is just another example of Dade County Law Enforcement working with multiple agencies across state lines. Most criminals know better than to flee through Dade County, because the chase seldom makes it out of our jurisdiction. I am very proud of our Deputies, as well as the officers at Trenton PD.” -Sheriff Ray Cross
