Thank You Dade Elementary for inviting us to “Can Hunger”. DES families provide over 40 baskets of food each year to our community during the holiday season. We are thankful to be a part of this great cause!

Man Charged with Felony Murder
Press Release November 9, 2021
Jeremiah Douglas of Wildwood, Ga charged with Felony Murder for the death of a 23 year old female which occurred on November 5, 2021. Douglas is currently Incarcerated in the Dade County Jail where he is accused of shoving the victim from a moving vehicle causing her death. Douglas awaits a bond hearing to be held in front of a Superior Court Judge.
The Georgia Department of Community Supervision has also executed a Parole Violation warrant where No Bond is available.
“We appreciate all the Agencies who lended a hand in this investigation. Agents and Investigators worked non-stop to capture the suspect responsible for this homicide in less than 24 hours of it’s occurrence. The community and witnesses were key in hunting this suspect down. This incident is a tragedy for a young woman’s family, a sensless crime that has impacted so many. Our Office is determined to see this case through.”
An official release of the victim’s information will be made once the GBI Crime Lab has confirmed identification.

Deceased Female Hwy 299

***UPDATE: Deceased Female Hwy 299***
On Saturday November 6, 2021 at approximately 830 a.m. Dade County Sheriff’s Investigations, GBI Agents, and Deputies with our Office placed a male suspect in custody in connection to the deceased female discovered just yesterday. The suspect does reside in Dade County.
Our Office responded to reports of a female subject laying in the middle of Hwy 299 who appeared to be injured. When Deputies arrived on scene, it was determined that she was deceased.
Agents and Investigators are still working this case. At this time, names will not be released to preserve the integrity of this investigation in addition to proper notifications.
Our Office is preparing to release further details and names no later than Monday during an Official Press Release held at the Sheriff’s Office. Time to be announced.
